Twitter Users Purchase More Music than Non-Tweeters
According to a recent report from the NPD Group, it was determined that they’re more likely to purchase music in greater quantities than non-tweeters. About 33% of ‘Tweeters’ recently purchased a CD (in-store) and about 34% bought a download. Compared to other web users, the numbers were 23% and 16% respectively.
There were also other Music industry saving facts that came from Twitter user data. Tweeters listen to more music on social web sites and Internet radio stations, and are more likely to view online music videos. They also purchased about 77% more in downloadable content than non-Twitter users.
According to NPD analyst Russ Crupnick, “Based on their music-purchasing history, active Twitter users are simply worth more to record labels and music retailers than those who are not using Twitter.”
